Police Release Images of Man Wanted in Downtown Toronto Sexual Assault Investigation

TORONTO — Toronto police have released images of a man they are trying to identify following an alleged sexual assault in the downtown core.

Police said officers responded to a sexual assault call in the University Avenue and College Street area at approximately 6 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 15.

According to investigators, a man and the victim were walking toward each other on a sidewalk when they passed one another. Police allege the man sexually assaulted the victim before fleeing the area.

Investigators describe the man as approximately 50 to 55 years old, between five-foot-four and five-foot-six, with a thin build and clean-shaven face.

Police said he was wearing a dark blue “Fenwick” baseball cap, a grey hooded sweater with “Canada” printed on the front, black jogging pants and black Nike shoes with a green Nike symbol on the inner toe. He was also carrying a black backpack.

No arrest has been announced, and Toronto police are asking anyone who recognizes the man or has information about the investigation to contact 52 Division at 416-808-5200.

The investigation remains ongoing.
