Raptors Tease Kyle Lowry No. 7 Dinosaur Logo

The Toronto Raptors are teasing what appears to be a special tribute to franchise legend Kyle Lowry, unveiling a new spin on the team’s iconic dinosaur logo.

The design features the classic Raptors dinosaur wearing a black No. 7 jersey — the number Lowry wore throughout his nine seasons in Toronto.

The message accompanying the logo — “A legacy too big for one night” — added to the speculation, suggesting the Raptors may have more than a one-night celebration planned for Lowry.

A familiar tribute

The concept immediately brings back memories of the special logo the Raptors created for Vince Carter when his No. 15 jersey was retired in November 2024.

For Carter’s ceremony, Toronto reworked its original dinosaur logo to feature the mascot wearing Carter’s No. 15 jersey.

The design was also displayed prominently at centre court at Scotiabank Arena as the Raptors celebrated one of the most recognizable players in franchise history.

Now, the Raptors appear to be giving Lowry similar treatment.

The newly teased design features the dinosaur wearing Lowry’s No. 7, creating an obvious connection between the two designs.

Lowry joined Toronto in 2012 and went on to become one of the most important players in franchise history.

During his nine seasons with the Raptors, Lowry became a six-time NBA All-Star and helped lead Toronto to its first NBA championship in 2019.

His No. 7 became synonymous with the most successful era of Raptors basketball, making the newly teased logo particularly significant for longtime fans.
