One Dead After Toronto Police Officer Fires Gun in North York

A suspect is dead after a Toronto Police officer discharged their firearm following a collision in North York Saturday afternoon.

One person is dead following an officer-involved shooting in North York on Saturday afternoon.

Toronto Police say officers were called to the area of Wilson Avenue and King High Avenue at approximately 1:24 p.m. following reports of a damaged vehicle being driven erratically.

Police say the vehicle was involved in a collision and the driver attempted to flee the scene.

According to police, officers arrived at the scene and interacted with the suspect. During that interaction, an officer discharged their firearm.

Few other details have been released, including the circumstances that led to the officer discharging their firearm.
